Laurence is Head of Retail Policy at the British Property Federation (BPF) and leads its work on high street renewal, commercial property and insolvency. This includes the Federation's public policy lobbying on stimulating regeneration and investment in our town centres. While at the BPF Laurence has also managed its engagement with distressed firms on their corporate restructurings and has lead calls for greater collaboration between parties in order to ensure effective retail repurposing. 

Amanda has recently been appointed as a High Streets Expert for the High Streets Task Force as well as being a Design Council BEE (Built Environment Expert) and sitting on a number of Design Review Panels in and around London.

Session 1: Repurposing and Rejuvenating Initiatives – Town Centre Adaption from a Policy Perspective

The Government’s many initiatives on town centres, including the work of the Towns and Levelling Up Funds, the High Streets Task Force and proposals to shake up the planning system. This session will also focus on some of the possible public policy solutions to the issues faced by the high street post-pandemic, including tax and insolvency reform and initiatives such as Town Centre Investment Zones.
