This three-part series analyses what is driving the market for petrol filling stations. Why is there so much interest in site development and acquisition in the face of apparent growing sales of electric vehicles (EVs) and other alternative fuelled vehicles (AFVs)?  

Steve Rodell, MD of Retail at Christie & Co, leads an expert speaker line-up that examines the opportunities and possible issues that may impact owners and other stakeholders of and in petrol filling stations. 

Michael is a well respected figure within the UK petrol forecourt & convenience market. Having joined the sector in 1997 as a licensee with Irish operator Petrogas Group he operated a number of sites within the greater Dublin area. Shortly after this he joined the management team of PGL as Operations Manager before being appointed to Operations Director and joining the board of Applegreen. In 2008 he relocated with his family to the UK as Managing Director, during this period he built a reputation as an industry leader and forward thinking operator.

Gordon has extensive experience in the fuel industry having worked for BP for 30 years. During this time he worked in fuel sales, strategic planning, project management, UK Fuel Card Manager and UK Country Manager where he was responsible for fuel cards, commercial fuel, automotive lubricants and fleet performance management.

The past two years have seen great change. However, now we have a wealth of knowledge supported by hard data that, correctly interpreted, enables us to see what is going to happen in the short and medium term future and how real estate will evolve.

•    But we also know that their role has evolved, and that many offices are no longer fit for purpose.
