Cyber-attacks are part of every-day life, with 32% of UK businesses reporting an attack in 2023 and cyber incidents, like the recent Ministry of Defence data breach, frequently making headlines.

To counter these attacks, many of us fulfil a vital role, whether knowingly or unknowingly, in defending our personal and corporate environments. Complex passwords are a given; multi-factor authentication is used by millions and many of the businesses we engage with have cyber insurance in place.

Rashpal Soomal advises a number of high-profile developers on a range of contentious issues arising from the intensified development of urban/city areas.

Her expertise ranges from advising on development constraints such as restrictive covenants and easements to securing vacant possession. She has a particular specialism in rights of light where she regularly advises on strategy, risk mitigation measures (such as placing agreed conduct insurance policies, registering light obstruction notices, or implementing s203) and dealing with litigation.

This 4-hour online course, led by Rashpal Soomal, Partner at Eversheds Sutherland International, demonstrates the key legal development constraints that every developer needs to understand.

The course covers: restrictive covenants, boundaries, trespass, adverse possession, easements, rights of way, nuisance, derogation from grant and quiet enjoyment amongst other less encountered impediments.

Over 30 years of technology experiences in engineering, logistics and real estate industries, now solely focussed on Cyber Security and leading the charge to bring the subject to life in Landsec's real estate business and beyond. A background of corporate Information Technology operations mixed with the world of Operational Technology management in real estate as a foundation for the data and AI-driven property world ahead of us.
