Applying Design Thinking to DAM

Design thinking: a creative problem-solving process centered on meeting the needs of humans interacting with technology that is addressing business objectives. 


Design thinking for DAM: the application of the principles, practices and designer’s toolkit to frequently encountered objectives in the practice of DAM. 


This half-day tutorial covers:

Pauline is a Senior Digital Asset Manager at Amazon Devices, leading DAM strategy, metadata governance, and system migrations for Amazon’s consumer electronic devices. She specializes in optimizing content workflows, rights management, and enterprise content platforms to drive efficiency and cost savings.

Cynthia Mathews is a Digital Asset Manager at Sherwin-Williams where she combines experience in technical solutions with smart workflows to achieve the end goal of connecting people to the assets they need. She works with marketing, brand, product, channel and catalog teams on the flow of marketing assets from creation to syndication, and she is also part of the global DAM team working to create organization-wide solutions. 

Michele Dickinson Heuer is the lead Digital Asset Manager at Nestle Purina Petcare North America. Her 20+ years of experience working for separators, agencies and Nestle combines technical experience in workflow, production, project management and asset creation. Michele works closely with agency partners, eCommerce, Marketing and outside suppliers to ensure all assets are collected, current and available for the end users.

Jim believes in finding elegant solutions to complex problems. He has been working in both technical as well as product roles for over 15 years and brings a sense of passion and experience to Brandfolder. Jim thrives in fast paced, high growth companies, that have a strong emphasis on being customer driven.

Michael Shattuck joined Widen Enterprises in 2017 after a decade of leadership over global photography and marketing technology systems at New Balance. Today, he leads the Widen Consulting team and partners with marketing and creative professionals to focus on human-centered transformation projects that leverage services such as martech strategy design, change management, and process optimization. His passion is to see people thrive in all areas of life and unlock their personal and professional potential.
