Over the past twenty years, David Rees has established a reputation as a key thinker, promoter, and conference speaker on the subject of Capital Allowances tax reliefs in the UK’s commercial property sector. David was a pivotal figure in the original Capital Allowances specialists Crosher & James and following their merger with Davis Langdon - at that time the UK’s largest cost management practice - ran their south of England tax team for over ten years. In 2010 the global US consultancy AECOM took over Davis Langdon and David became a national business development director.

James joined Masthaven after 29 years at specialist development finance operator Regentsmead. During his tenure as Chief Executive, he created the Short-Term Lending department and grew the business to become one of the leading privately owned development finance businesses in the market. James is passionate about property and now has over 30 years of property and development finance experience.

Roger is Lester Aldridge’s Chairman. He specialises in major development projects, including site acquisitions, financing, development agreements and construction documentation and disposals. He regularly advises on joint ventures and collaborations. Whilst dealing with a broad range of development projects, Roger has a particular interest in waterside developments, acting for a number of ports and marina operators, and the Healthcare sector. He deals with substantial and complex property transactions and property related projects on behalf of a range of client s across the UK.

Stuart is an Associate at Reed Smith, a leading internal law firm, specializing in Real Estate. He advises on a broad range of commercial real estate transactions but now has particular focus on acting for institutional investors (both on acquisitions and disposals) and advising finance providers. Stuart also has experience of acting for corporate real estate clients, property developers and energy companies.

Kathryn is an associate in the London office of Reed Smith LLP where she focuses on a broad range of corporate and commercial work and regularly advises on, and manages, large domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, particularly for clients in the real estate sector. Kathryn has recently worked with Reed Smith’s Real Estate Group on a number of property-related transactions, including sales and acquisitions of property-holding SPVs and the establishment of property joint ventures.

James is a partner in the firm's Europe & Middle East Corporate Group, based in London. James focuses on a broad range of corporate finance and company/commercial transactions, including cross-border and domestic mergers and acquisitions, alliances, joint ventures and equity issues for public and private clients and dealing with commercial contracts and related work, particularly for clients in the media and technology, energy and natural resources and real estate sectors.
