Events Creative Operations Summit Los Angeles 2025 What Makes a Good Story? The Ins and Outs of Brand Storytelling

Is it storytelling, or just content? People are craving authentic experiences, and storytelling is an opportunity for brands to build connection, engage with audiences and generate entertainment, but not all stories are created equal.

In this session, Alex Blum will focus on the difference between generating content vs telling engaging stories, and he will identify the challenges and requirements of the storytelling journey.

The session will define the appropriate genres to consider, define the four basic story types, and outline the questions to ask before progressing from briefing and creative development to committing budget and starting production.

From episodic stories to feature-length films, brand storytelling can be an exciting opportunity, as long as the mission is clear and the risks and dependencies are addressed right from the start.
