Dr. Robert Sanderson is the Senior Director for Digital Cultural Heritage at Yale University, and works across Yale’s museums, libraries and archives to ensure digital knowledge and processing is both connected and consistent. He is the technical architect and leader for LUX, Yale’s cross-collection discovery platform built using the Linked Open Usable Data paradigm and technologies. He is on Yale’s AI Advisory Board and has worked at the intersection of cultural heritage and information science / AI throughout his career. He is chair of the Linked Art working group in ICOM, long-standing editor for the IIIF (International Image Interoperability Framework) specifications, and has been co-chair and editor of foundational W3C specifications, including JSON-LD. He has previously worked for the J. Paul Getty Trust, Stanford University and Los Alamos National Laboratory.
