Kate is a metadata specialist at the National Gallery of Art with more than 15 years of experience in digital asset management, metadata strategy, and museum imaging workflows. She leads development of the Gallery’s enterprise metadata schema and collaborates across departments to improve access, organization, and preservation of digital collections. Her work focuses on controlled vocabularies, cataloging standards, rights management, and user-centered DAM system design and support. Kate is passionate about facilitating user search and discovery of collections through thoughtful metadata practices, and enjoys learning and improving her skills through participation in professional communities focused on digital technologies and linked data for cultural heritage institutions. She seeks ways to optimize use of the digital asset management system by expanding workflow automations, incorporating AI-driven tools and metadata enrichment, and exploring content authenticity and provenance standards for digital media.
