Events Event Speaker Jeff Mixter

Jeff Mixter is the Director of Global Metadata and Innovation at OCLC, a global nonprofit that builds the shared data infrastructure behind the world's libraries. He works to build and maintain WorldCat, the world's largest database of bibliographic metadata — hundreds of millions of interlinked descriptions of books, articles, and other works, relied on by more than 10,000 libraries worldwide. He also leads the development of OCLC's knowledge graph, turning decades of library description into linked entity data that powers new discovery products and services. Jeff holds bachelor's degrees in History and German from The Ohio State University and master's degrees in Library and Information Science and in Information Architecture and Knowledge Management from Kent State University.
